The Pantone colour(s) of the year

This year Pantone have announced not one, but two colours of the year!

'Ultimate Grey' and 'illuminating' which they say is 'a marriage of colour conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.'

These two colours are polar opposites with Ultimate Grey being the exact shade of pale grey expected by such a name, and Illuminating, being just that, an illuminating zingy yellow hue.

Here are 4 ways to keep your colour scheme bang on trend.

1.  To make your lounge or bedroom cosier, ditch the wallpapered feature wall and use Ultimate grey instead. If the kitchen cupboards need a revamp, Frenchic has a range of grey shades! (We're currently doing ours in Scotch mist, a blue grey shade.)

2. Not only can grey walls cosy up your space, but it is a great colour for sofa's and upholstered furniture due to its neutral hue. If you're after a bit of a lockdown project and don't want to break the bank, Dylon 'smoke grey' can be used to refresh soft furnishings.

3. Grey walls and furniture can be enhanced beautifully with brighter coloured accents, such as these scatter cusions from Next

4. Rugs are also a fantastic way to incorporate this gorgeous cololur combo into your space on a lower budget. I really like this one from Dunelm
